Basic characteristics: Convertible style, continental kit on extended bumper, windshield, hood does not open; chromed wheels & tires all the same size, steering wheel attached to plastic interior insert. Chassis is marked "Matchbox" "1957 Thunderbird" "1/63"
Premiere Collection basics: white wall tires, chrome styled wheels; interior seats 2-toned; clear windshield; trim silver painted including windshield trim & door handles; headlights painted silver; front parking lights painted orange; rear lights painted red w/silver trim; rear license plate; chromed chassis
From 2003 to 2010 - Chassis is now plastic and colored.. Marked: Matchbox in oval, 1988, Mattel Made In China or Thailand.
2018 - Chassis now marked Thailand.

XXX Premiere Nostalgia Packaging	.	1998	China	Package oddity. There was no Thunderbird in the "Nostaligia collection" but the packages were printed with the nose of a red 1955 Thunderbird. Cars included in this series ranged from a 1955 Chevy to a 1990s Dodge Viper. Tbird graphic was found with a 1957 black & white Corvette.
