Color Stats 2002-2005
Detailed Color Statistics for the 2002 to 2005 have been posted on the color pages of my main website at www.portholeauthority.com. They are in pdf format so you may download easily and print for your own reference. The files cover how many made of a particular color, interior and hardtop combination.
Sorry, I do not have the breakdown for wheel styles or transmission shifter style.
March 2009 - Due to increased spam on the blog, I have removed some of the other entries that people may have needed the info on - please check in with Thunderbirdnest.com for that info.

I have a 2005 with the sand interior. The metal trim on the dashboard has a gold tint to it, like other 'birds I've seen with the sand interior. However, the trim on my door panels is silver, unlike others I've seen. Any ideas? Did Ford goof?

Hi Randy,
If you bought new from the dealer and car was build towards the end, then yes, I'd think that it was possibly done at the factory - possibly lack of parts toward the end as the door trim should match the dash trim in color but I would think the factory had all the correct door trim parts for the car even toward the end for the sand interiors.
If you bought used, then it's possible that the door panels were replaced due to some accident and the repair shop didn't order the correct interior door parts or bought the door panels off a used 05 with the standard 05 trim.
Your driver's door tag does match your vin#, right?

Hi
I have been dreaming of getting the retro T-Bird since they came out. I am planning to get one late winter/early spring. Your site is amazing. I have been looking/learning on it for weeks. There's so much cool stuff to know.
I continue to be perplexed of what year to get. Besides the usual colors, interiors etc (because I know I'm buying used and all options would be very limited) Do you have an opinion of whether the 02/03/04/05 is a better choice. I know a lot will depend on mileage and what's availbe. Or is it simply that I can't go wrong?
Thanks...I'll stay in touch!

If color doesn't matter, then look for one that has an extended warranty still active. That puts you looking at a 2004 or 2005. Mileage is relative - you might want a low mileage one but then any bugs it may have may not have been found yet. A higher mileage one may or may not have been taken care of well. Best to check them in person when you can. Personally I'd go for an 05. Have you browsed thru thunderbirdnest.com? It's a good forum to visit and ask and you'll get all sorts of opinions.
