Question from Kathy:
Have they made a die-cast of the 2005 Thunderbird 50th anniversary car? If so, where can I get one? Thanks!
Only one so far. It's 1/43 scale and made by Hallmark cards as a Holiday Ornament for Christmas 2005. It came in a set with a red 55 inside a special box. The set shows up on ebay.com frequently so you should be able to find one there. It runs anywhere from $10 to $20.

Irecently purchased a 2003 Ford Thunderbird Premium with 10923 miles. My question is: when the headlights are on, the driving lights are also on. Is there a way to turn off the driving lights when you do not need them? Pulling out on the switch does not change anything. On my other Ford, pulling out the switch turns the driving lights on and they are off when the switch is pushed in.
Thanks, Chett

Chett,
Technically, your headlights are your driving lights - on any car.
The small round lights on the bumper are in "fog light" position or as Ford called them on the Tbird, supplemental parking lights (SPLs). The SPLs only come on with the headlights. Though Ford used the same switch that you'll find in other Ford cars with operating fog lights, Ford did not hook them up as fog lights on the Tbird - had to do with the lights not meeting federal crash standards for bumpers.
and no, there isn't an easy way to turn the SPLs off or on by them selves.
