Interesting face: My '03 came with full accent black/white interior including white inserts in headrests. However, one seat had horizontal ribs; the other vertical. Which is right?

First - we need the last 6 digits of your vin# to tell you about your specific 2003.
Info on your 55 vin is not available - Ford destroyed the factory invoices back in the mid 60s, but your vin# plate has codes that can tell you about body and interior color for your car and approx when it was built.
As for the seats in your 03 - should be horizontal BUT your last 6 digits of your vin may indicate what happened as Ford will use the parts bin to finish out what is needed.
Did you buy new or used? If used, previous owner may have had to replace and again, Ford will send what is available. Vertical pleats were the norm for 04s and the few 05s that had partial white interiors.

and no, I do not have anything to do with the thunderbirdnest since the current owners choose to support the previous punk kid dictator owner (aka "justin the clark-puppet") instead of people that actually add value to their site. They claim they "fired" the punks when they bought the site from them but their actions are contrary to their statements.
The owner of this site (Dot, aka 5bird7) does participate at TBN however... she advertises this site so people can get come to get information they otherwise would not be able to get.

My vin is 1FAHP60A52Y101460. The door tag says it was built in June of 2001. I gather that is the first month of production. I purchased it used with less than 3000 mi in April of 2003. Something in the carfax report indicated the original sale in Florida. It is triple black. Would like to know what Ford has to say about its origin. Would like to have the window sticker too but it appears i have missed the boat on that.

Ford began building your car June 26, 2001 but it was not complete until July 25. However the plant was closed for two weeks for summer shut down before yours could be completed.
The very first Thunderbirds were finished in March 2001 but production didn't start in ernest until June. There were 1,150 cars built before your 7/25/2001 build date.
Any Ford dealer should be able to get you a window sticker.

To answer your question about the pin striping you found on yours. Yes, It was a dealer add-on. They came from the factory with no added paint graphics.
Dealers have been known to change the wheels or add the pin striping or even more customing as done by Galpin Ford in California.

First - we need the last 6 digits of your vin# to tell you about your specific 2003.
Info on your 55 vin is not available - Ford destroyed the factory invoices back in the mid 60s, but your vin# plate has codes that can tell you about body and interior color for your car and approx when it was built.
As for the seats in your 03 - should be horizontal BUT your last 6 digits of your vin may indicate what happened as Ford will use the parts bin to finish out what is needed.
Did you buy new or used? If used, previous owner may have had to replace and again, Ford will send what is available. Vertical pleats were the norm for 04s and the few 05s that had partial white interiors.

My vin is 1FAHP60A52Y101460. The door tag says it was built in June of 2001. I gather that is the first month of production. I purchased it used with less than 3000 mi in April of 2003. Something in the carfax report indicated the original sale in Florida. It is triple black. Would like to know what Ford has to say about its origin. Ford began building your car June 26, 2001 but it was not complete until July 25. However the plant was closed for two weeks for summer shut down before yours could be completed.
The very first Thunderbirds were finished in March 2001 but production didn't start in ernest until June. There were 1,150 cars built before your 7/25/2001 build date.
Any Ford dealer should be able to get you a window sticker.

To answer your question about the pin striping you found on yours. Yes, It was a dealer add-on. They came from the factory with no added paint graphics.
Dealers have been known to change the wheels or add the pin striping or even more customing as done by Galpin Ford in California.
